Each month I will be listing five books that will be releasing that month that I am most looking forward to. This is my top five list for August, in order of release. It looks like a great month for strong heroines! Since August is my birthday month (I’ll be 22 on the 16th, eek!) maybe some of these books will be weaselling their way onto my wishlist :)
1. Debutantes
by Cora Harrison
Release Date: August 2, 2012
[Add to Goodreads] [Amazon] [Book Depository]
Why I’m Excited: First off, part of my excitement is towards that BEAUTIFUL cover! It’s got a sort of Marie Antoinette: The Movie look to it, doesn’t it? I’m also loving the setting: London in the Jazz age. It reminds me a bit of Pride & Prejudice as well. I can’t wait to dig into the historical romance and mysteries!
2. Throne Of Glass (#1)
by Sarah J. Maas
Release Date: August 7, 2012
[Add to Goodreads] [Amazon] [Book Depository]
Why I’m Excited: There has been a lot of excitement over this one. It reminds me a bit of The Hunger Games mixed with Graceling - two books which I loved. Also? It sounds like it has a great ass-kicking heroine!

by Tiffany Trent
Release Date: August 14, 2012
[Add to Goodreads] [Amazon] [Book Depository]
Why I’m Excited: This sounds like an action filled steampunk. Plus, it takes place in London and features magical creatures preserved in a museum. That sounds frighteningly awesome!
4. Defiance (#1)
by C.J. Redwine
Release Date: August 28, 2012
[Add to Goodreads] [Amazon] [Book Depository]
Why I’m Excited: This one sounds like it has another strong female main character. Plus, it has a bit of something for everyone - fantasy/sci-fi, dystopia, romance and paranormal.
5. Every Day
by David Levithan
Release Date: August 28, 2012
[Add to Goodreads] [Amazon] [Book Depository]
Why I’m Excited: While I’ve only read one or two of David Leviathan’s books, they’ve always been amazing reads. Every Day is about reincarnation and it sounds fascinating and heartbreaking!
What August releases are you most looking forward to?

Wow, these all look amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing THRONE OF GLASS everywhere but I haven't read much on it. Being a not-so-much of a fan of HUNGER GAMES I think I'll wait until you give your thoughts and if you say its good I'll read it :)
ReplyDeleteI totally want your last three books too ! I seriously can't wait for David Levithan's book and Unnaturalists ! Also, yet Debutantes looks exactly like that Marie Antoinette movie.
ReplyDeleteGreat picks! And Every Day left me speechless!
