The lovely Christa at Hooked on Books has let me “borrow” her AWESOME Fangirl Friday feature from her for the duration of The Sunnydale Project! What is Fangirl Friday? Well, as Christa explains on her blog:
Fangirl Friday is a weekly feature hosted by Hooked on Books. It's that time of the week where you can let your inner fangirl (or boy) loose. It is a time where you are encouraged to gush about your favourite fandom.
Isn’t that fun?! I’ve found out about so many fun pieces of merchandise, or recipes and crafts through her Fangirl Friday posts, and I love the posts, even if we don’t always share the same fandom.
Each Friday will have a Fangirl Friday post that will focus on my love for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and each week will have a different theme: art, video games, fan fiction, etc. This week’s theme is ART.
First off, I’m not a very artistic person - I’m more crafty - but when I was younger I did enjoy drawing, and I took art class as an elective in grades 9 and 10. At the beginning of the year in art you always had to make a giant portfolio out of bristol board to hold your work. Below is my Buffy the Vampire Slayer inspired portfolio. I don’t know why I made the rest of the Scoobie Gang dead - maybe so I wouldn’t have to draw all their bodies? That was probably it, haha!
Over the years I’ve also done a drawing of Buffy and of Anya, in addition to a poem about her. But do you think I could find either of those? Nope.
I know I’m not a great artist, but I’ve always had fun when I’ve incorporated Buffy into my work. I also love viewing other peoples' creations on Deviant Art. It’s so inspiring and the talent that some people have is just remarkable!
What about you? Have you ever made any Buffy inspired art or crafts?
